It seems to be that time of the year when we are flooded with celeb fad diets in magazines and their opinions on what we should be eating! More and more celebs are now following diets based on eating only ‘pure foods’ and by the sounds of things this could be potentially dangerous!
In a recent article by the Mail online, scientists warned that a diet where you can only eat the healthiest food could cause severe damage to the dieter’s physical and mental health.
As a consequence of such fad diets, professionals have reported an increase in a mental illness known as Orthorexia Nervosa. Individuals that suffer from this condition become so obsessed about the purity of the food that they eat and will therefore begin to deny their bodies of entire food groups.
Nutritionists warn that cutting out a large variety of foods from your diet could cause serious illness. This is worrying when such high profile celebs are at the forefront of these diets, many women feel pressured to take up similar diets and the problems start from there.
These obsessive diet plans do not just affect your diet! I mean think about it! You get invited out for a meal with friends or you get asked out on a date with a gorgeous guy or girl? If you have to stick to such rigid rules, you are going to find it impossible to eat out! Soon you will find yourself making excuses, refusing to eat out and this is going to put a massive strain on your relationships!
Nutritionists warned about celebrity diets such as the Blood Group Diet, which is favored by Cheryl Cole and the Maple Syrup Diet, used by Beyoncé and Naomi Campbell.
Can you imagine only consuming sugary water and little else? Where are all the vitamins, minerals, protein and fiber that are essential for your body?
Surely people want to change their diets and lifestyle so they can become healthier and be happier as a consequence? Using these fanatical diets aren’t going to make you feel great and give you the confidence you deserve!
