Now There Are Not Many People In This World That Don’t Love Everything About Chocolate!
For Most Of Us, This Sweet Indulgence Can Be Our Biggest Weakness!
Well for those of you that can’t say no to chocolate, I have some great news for you! It was reported by the Telegraph recently that researchers have found that chocolate contains healthier plant compounds than many fruit juices gram for gram!
In a study they found that powdered dark chocolate contains more antioxidants and polyphenols, which are both thought to protect the body from diseases such as cancer and heart conditions. Making this tasty treat a ‘superfood’, meaning in simple terms, it can prevent your body’s healthy cells from being damaged!
The lead author in the study, states that it is actually the cacao seeds and the products extracted from it, such as natural cacao powder and dark chocolate that have the ‘super’ properties.
Ok, let’s not get carried away here! This doesn’t mean you can eat all the chocolate in sight from now on!
As well as all this goodness, chocolate also contains high levels of sugar and fats which unfortunately isn’t good for you. But if you eat a small amount of dark chocolate every day, about 50g, you will get the goodness without it affecting your waistline!
Remember there’s nothing wrong with having a little bit of a treat, as you are more likely to binge on the foods which you cut out completely from you diet.
